Alvalade Christmas Market: A Return Full of Magic and Tradition

The Alvalade Christmas Market is back for its 11th edition, bringing even more magic and tradition to Avenida da Igreja, from 4 to 17 December.

The market will be open from 10:00 to 20:00, Sunday to Thursday, and from 10:00 to 21:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.
This free event, designed for the whole family, is one of the most anticipated in Lisbon during the Christmas season.
This year, the market will feature 67 vendors offering a wide variety of products — from traditional Portuguese crafts, Christmas decorations, fashion and accessories to typical gastronomy, including sweets, savoury items and hot and cold drinks. The iconic wooden cabins will create a warm and festive atmosphere along Avenida da Igreja.

The programme includes music, theatre and dance performances, as well as activities for children, such as traditional Portuguese craft workshops.

Santa Claus will be present every day to welcome families and take photos:
- on 4, 5 and 12 December from 17:00 to 20:00, and
- on 9, 10, 11, 15, 16 and 17 December from 17:00 to 19:30.
- On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, he will be available from 11:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 19:30.

This year’s programme highlights include:
•    Opening ceremony: 4 December at 18:00, next to Santa’s House.
•    Christmas Bike Tour: A bicycle route designed to bring the community closer to the Christmas spirit, on 12 December.
•    Theatre of Emotions: A show for children, on 13 December, with doors opening at 17:45 and the performance starting at 18:00, inspired by emotions and Christmas magic.
•    Street entertainment and roaming performers: Moments of animation throughout several days of the event.
