This exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the arts from 1909 to 1975.
Along the way, established ideas and canons are disrupted, detours are taken and leaps in time are made to reveal connections between Europe and America, bringing to light forgotten or absent relationships in the history of art.
The Berardo Collection, the Holma/Ellipse Collection, the Teixeira de Freitas Collection and the State’s Contemporary Art Collection come together here to redraw the place of Portuguese art in 20th-century art.
