The performers are:
Toshiyuki Shibata  Baroque Flute
Toshiyuki Shibata is a versatile flutist who performs on modern flute, piccolo, alto flute, baroque traverso, and classical/romantic keyed flute, with a repertoire spanning from the Baroque period to contemporary music.
Originally from Takamatsu, Japan, he studied linguistics at Osaka University before dedicating himself to music in New York, where he performed in leading U.S. venues and worked as a recording session musician. After relocating to Belgium, he focused intensively on early music, studying at the Royal Conservatories of Antwerp, Ghent, and Brussels. He has collaborated with numerous renowned ensembles, including the Brussels Philharmonic, the Chamber Orchestra of Belgium, La Petite Bande, Le Concert Lorrain, Vox Luminis, Bach Plus, and Il Fondamento.
As a soloist, he has appeared at festivals such as the Tokyo Spring Festival, Bach Academie Brugge, and Thüringer Bachwochen. In 2019, he toured Japan with the B’Rock Orchestra. His most recent CD, J.S. Bach: Sonatas, Fantasias & Improvisations (Fuga Libera), was featured on NHK BS’s Classic Club in June 2024. A second album will be released in 2025 by Channel Classics. He currently teaches traverso at CRR Aubervilliers (France) and the Stedelijk Conservatorium Brugge (Belgium).

Élisabeth Joyé  Harpsichord
Élisabeth Joyé studied harpsichord in Aix-en-Provence with André Raynaud and Huguette Dreyfus, followed by advanced studies with Gustav Leonhardt at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, Bob van Asperen in The Hague, and Jos van Immerseel at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where she graduated with highest distinction.
She has performed and recorded with prestigious ensembles such as Les Musiciens du Louvre (Marc Minkowski), Le Concert Français (Pierre Hantaï), La Simphonie du Marais (Hugo Reyne), Le Concert Spirituel (Hervé Niquet), and La Petite Bande (Sigiswald Kuijken). Her international career includes appearances at major festivals including La Grange de Meslay, Sablé-sur-Sarthe, Saintes, and the Printemps des Arts de Nantes, as well as performances across Europe, North and South America.
A dedicated educator, she has taught numerous masterclasses in France and abroad and has instructed prominent musicians including Benjamin Alard. She teaches at the Conservatoire du 7e arrondissement in Paris and at the Escola Superior de Música de Lisboa. She has released several acclaimed solo recordings and chamber music albums.
