It is easy to understand that the circumstances of an enforced ending may well result in a grand gesture, but nothing prepared us for such impressive proof of his creative excellence, not even the earlier albums Joyful (2014) and Crocodiles (2016), in which he had already displayed the myriad ideas, resources and languages that inhabit his music.

In fact, Private Reasons is a huge and definitive declaration of Pernadas’ pop art, where, once again, we are invited to travel wholeheartedly through a world of musical styles, geographies, images, voices and spirits, producing remakes of classics and glimpsing the future, in which everything seems to have been constructed with a huge sense of ambition, as if he were seeking to bequeath us a monument in his own time, and in our time too. It is a luminous compilation of epic sound-based stories that, in the midst of unconventional compositions, arrangements and instrumentation, subtly reveal to us what we can hear beyond this trilogy, beyond pop, in the future of Bruno Pernadas’ music.

But, for the time being, let us celebrate the moment with the long-awaited feast of a concert prepared with the same ambition and generosity as the album itself, filling the stage with musicians so willing to collaborate in this unique, and quite probably unrepeatable, event.
