The São Carlos National Theatre Choir and Portuguese Symphonic Orchestra will perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio”.
With a cast that is mainly Portuguese, led by Joana Carneiro, the musicians gather together for the traditional joyful Christmas concert.
The performance brings together six cantatas that describe the birth of Jesus, the Annunciation and adoration of the shepherds and the journey and adoration of the three kings.
The rhythm, percussion and sounds of the choir evoke enthusiasm to celebrate the day in this joyful and exuberant work.
