This exhibition – Diary of a Pandemic – is a portrait of the everyday lives of Portuguese people captured by photojournalists, videographers and documentary makers during the quarantine period imposed as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“EVERYDAYCOVID”, which is one of the four modules, was a photographic project on Instagram in which 119 photographers took part.
A total of 86 images were selected, each illustrating iconic and intimate moments from these days. “Portraits of Portugal by News Agencies” is another section in which some of the photographs captured by the AFP, AP, Getty Images, EPA/Lusa and Reuters agencies can be seen, showing how Portugal reacted to the pandemic.
There is also a module in which visitors can follow a chronological line between March and July through the front pages of newspapers, and there is also space for works by individual photographers, which features images captured by the intimate and critical eye of Luísa Ferreira.
