Santa Casa Alfama Festival'20

Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, fado is part of Portuguese culture, and is at the root of this festival.

The festival celebrating the music that is on the UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage list is back, and with Mariza and Gisela João on the programme.

This year the Santa Casa Alfama also celebrates the centenary of the birth of fado’s greatest diva, Amália Rodrigues, with the show “Celebrar Amália 100 Anos Depois”, which brings together the voices of several artists to perform some of Amália’s most iconic songs.

Among the new features will be the exhibition “Bem-Vinda Sejas Amália”, where the public will be able to see some of her personal belongings, and the video mapping show “Amália”, a narration of the singer’s life that will be projected onto the façade of the Terminal de Cruzeiros de Lisboa.

2nd and 3rd October, at various locations in Alfama. Tickets: day ticket, 25 euros; two-day pass, 35 euros.
