Imitação dos Pássaros takes the stage at Teatro Variedades, in Parque Mayer, from 30 September to 25 October 2026.

Written and directed by Tiago Torres da Silva, the play follows Filipe, a young man who finds in theatre and in Nina, the famous character from Chekhov’s The Seagull, a way of understanding the world and himself.

In a family shaped by secrets, misunderstanding and difficult relationships, Filipe’s unexpected encounter with a seagull sets off a chain of conflicts and revelations. Exploring different generations, Imitação dos Pássaros addresses loneliness, family relationships and the difficulties of communication between parents, children and grandparents, offering a contemporary portrait of human connections.
