Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto - Martha Argerich performs for the fifth consecutive season at Gulbenkian Música, a sign of the long relationship with the prestigious pianist.
After a series of recitals, this time Argerich will make her long-awaited debut with the Gulbenkian Orchestra.
She will perform Prokofiev, a composer she described as her “best friend”.
In the year 2000, the British newspaper The Independent wrote about her interpretation of Piano Concerto No. 3: “nobody plays this piece like Argerich”.
Conducted by Lorenzo Viotti, we will hear the less frequently performed, but equally brilliant, 9th Symphony of Shostakovitch.
