The MUDE – Museu do Design presents the exhibition Meu nome António. Photographs by Teresa Couto Pinto 1981-1983, running from 4 December 2025 to 26 April 2026.

António Variações (1944–1984) – singer, songwriter, and performer – stands out for the originality of his voice, the inventiveness of his lyrics and musical compositions, and the way he dressed and presented himself, defying the conventions of his time.
The 85 photographs by Teresa Couto Pinto – Variações’ agent, photographer, and friend – portray the artist’s strong personality, creative freedom, charisma, and visual aesthetic. Alongside both well-known and lesser-known or even previously unseen photographs, the exhibition also features items of clothing and personal accessories, reflecting how he reinvented himself through Portuguese collective identity while drawing inspiration from the cosmopolitan reality of artistic movements and international sounds.
His distinctive hair and beard styles, the colours he used, and even his eye make-up form part of the uniqueness and timelessness of someone who will always be António Variações.
