In recent years, Gulbenkian Music has opened the doors to each new season with a free concert in the inspiring Vale do Silêncio. A celebration of deep complicity between the Gulbenkian Orchestra and the city of Lisbon.
This time, the Gulbenkian Choir and Orchestra will perform together in a programme mostly dedicated to the choral and symphonic repertoire of opera and musicals, under the direction of conductor Cesário Costa.
The programme includes arias from Bizet's Carmen, Verdi's Aida and Nabucco, and Puccini's Madama Butterfly, as well as Joly Braga Santos' Staccato Brilhante, in the year that marks the centenary of his birth.
