But this is one of these events that can only be seen to be believed.
On 12th June, thousands of people will come together on Avenida da Liberdade to watch as 20 marches take to the street, sharing the traditions of their neighbourhoods and performing dance routines and singing songs that are evaluated by a panel of judges who then pick the best one on the night.

Before this, on the 3rd, 4th and 5th june, the marches will perform at the Altice Arena.

This is an old tradition that is renewed every year.
