The museum of the Lisbon Geographical Society is one of the best-kept secrets in Lisbon. It inherited its collection from what was once the “Colonial Museum” and assumed an ethnographic focus from early on. It grew through a campaign of acquisitions and the donations of collectors and travellers who accompanied the Portuguese outposts in the former empire.
