Curated by Ernesto Rodrigues, the exhibition explores the history of one of the oldest almanacs in Portugal, published annually, without interruption, from 1899 until today.

Over the years, this unique editorial format combined devotion, popular culture, scientific knowledge and literature, becoming an authentic reflection of everyday life and customs in Portugal.

Visitors will be able to explore the diverse content featured in each edition: calendars, festivals, farming advice, proverbs, riddles, chronicles, poetry and iconography.

The exhibition reveals how these books were used by successive generations, demonstrating the relationship between religion, society and culture.

In addition to its historical value, the exhibition highlights the graphic design and editorial importance of St. Anthony’s Almanac, a publication spanning 128 years and three centuries that helped people organise the annual cycle of their everyday life for generations.
