Moinho de Maré do Cais - Montijo

This mill's power source is the flow and movement of the River Tagus. In 1995, it became council property, with the local authority taking responsibility for its preservation. Estaleiro Naval de Sarilhos Pequenos

The Sarilhos Pequenos Naval Shipyard was bought in 1957, when shipbuilding was a flourishing industry. With the decline of river transport this shipyard stopped building the traditional boats of the Tagus, shifting its activity to the restoration and maintenance of different types of pleasure boats

Vila de Alcochete

On the South bank of the Tagus, close to the Tagus Estuary Natural Reserve, is the charmingly unique town of Alcochete. EVOA – Espaço de Visitação e Observação de Aves

Viewing Point

The Tagus Estuary Natural Reserve is home to more than 120,000 birds and approximately 200 species. EVOA features 3 lagoons, 5 km of hiking trails, 3 observatories, photography hides and various other observation points. The EVOA exhibition can be visited at the Interpretation Centre, where the world discovers the River Tagus.
